Gordon Gray

In conjunction with leading the Gray Ops Team, Gordon is currently an Adjunct Instructor in Administration of Justice with San Joaquin Delta College, a Northern California Community College where he instructs at the POST Basic Academy in Firearms.  Additionally, Gordon is an Assistant Instructor with The International Training Group (ITG) a nationally recognized Executive Protection Training Company where he supports the training of open enrollment courses in Executive Protection Agents and Teams, Surveillance Detection, Executive Protection Handgun Training, and High Risk Environment Training.  Gordon is a POST Certified Firearms Instructor (POST ID # B76-M25), a NRA Law Enforcement Certified Firearms Instructor (#167784077), and a State of California DOJ Certified Instructor (#347724).

Gordon has worked in Public Safety since 1977 and retired in 2009 from the Stockton Police Department, a large department in central California of approximately 445 sworn personnel, which is noted for its challenging work environment due to its high crime rate.

With years of experience in diverse police settings, he has held several assignments such as: Uniformed Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Narcotics Investigator, Street Crimes Unit member (Conducting high profile street level drug interdiction, Gang Impact, & Prostitution Stings), Traffic Officer, SWAT Team Member and Major Collision Investigator.  He holds an Advanced POST Certificate and was certified by his department as a Master Police Officer.

In 2000, Gordon was honored to be chosen by his department as “Officer of the Year.”  In 2004 he was the Shooting Events Manager for the California Police & Fire Games where he managed, 5 event coordinators and the successful and safe competition in Small Bore Rifle, Large Bore/Long Range Rifle, Shotgun, Sporting Clays, Practical Pistol Individual & Team, and Cowboy Action Shooting.  With over 500 competitors attending, he had the responsible for the coordination of all events, venues, and participant safety during the games. 

In 2009, he was awarded his department’s “SWAT Service Metal” for serving 21 distinguished and dedicated years on the SWAT Team.  While on the SWAT Team, Gordon served as Assistant Team Leader on the Sniper Team.  He was responsible for the monthly firearms training, scheduling and maintenance of the sniper weapons.  Gordon has participated in several SWAT Competitions throughout California, both as a competitor and coordinator being responsible for scenario planning, execution, and scoring.

Gordon is a certified FBI, California POST and NRA Law Enforcement Range Master and Firearms Instructor in Handgun/Shotgun, Patrol Rifle, Precision Rifle, and Tactical Shooting. Additionally, Gordon is a certified Glock Armorer and a I.C.E. Certified Defensive Handgun and Concealed Carry Coach. 

Gordon has also received training and has experience in Executive Protection, FBI Post Blast Investigations and is a member of several professional organizations such as NRA Life Member), Association of Defensive Shooting Instructors, National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI), and the American Sniper Association (ASA).
